The Strategic National Stockpile (SNS)
The Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) formerly called the National Pharmaceutical Stockpile is a national repository of pharmaceutical and medical materials including antibiotics, antidotes and medical/surgical supplies which can be delivered to a terrorist mass casualty site to support local rescue efforts.

The request procedure for the SNS is established through local and state communications with the federal CDC. The SNS requires established logistical support including aviation, ground transportation and personnel to become functional. Many states have plans in place for receiving the SNS and it's inherent requirements. www.bt.cdc.gov/index.asp
